Clinical Assistant Professor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Dr. Carlos A. Hernandez is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida's Counseling Center. He previously worked for 10 years at the Career Resource Center at the University. He received his doctorate and specialist degrees in Mental Health Counseling, specializing in mental health and multicultural counseling from the Department of Counselor Education at the University of Florida. His areas of interest include multiculturalism, vocational, and sexual orientation. He provides individual and group counseling to students with a variety of clinical, vocational, and interpersonal issues and concerns. He provides clinical supervision to graduate students as well. He has guest lectured for numerous graduate counseling courses and has presented at national conferences. He is the faculty advisor for the Hispanic Student Association and the PRIDE Student Union. Dr. Carlos A. Hernandez was born in the beautiful Caribbean island of Cuba.
