Counseling
International Students: Types of Counseling
Individual Counseling
Provides one-on-one confidential counseling experience for international students to deal with their unique circumstances and develop personal awareness and skills to overcome problems evoked by being in a different culture and using a different language. Students learn to grow and develop in ways that will allow them to maximize their total educational experience at the University of Florida.
Couples Counseling
Students learn to constructively deal with relational issues with their partner while developing deeper understanding of themselves and others. Only one member of the couple needs to be an enrolled student.
Career Counseling
Some international students may not be exposed to the exploration of their career options due to the differences between US educational system and that of their home country. Career counseling provides an opportunity for them to explore their career interest, values, skills, and the world of work through individual counseling, vocational assessments, and a web based discovery program.
